I really liked the Egg Hunt mechanic and the world building around it all. This book touched on some of the societal issues this tech would make, but it seemed to want to make pop culture references more than anything. I didn’t like some of Wade’s characteristics and some of the 80’s references went straight over my head.
This book was a ton of fun and took me back to my early days of computing; late 70s, early 80s, as well as the Atari 2600 days. No spoiler about the plot but note that the movie glossed over the relationship of the main characters, it was really a let down, but the book? One of my favorites, so fun.
Iets te veel nogal Amerikaanse nostalgie naar de jaren 80, maar in het derde deel werd het hier en daar toch nog even een beetje verrassend. Ach, niet onaardig verder, als je de diepgang van een bord soep verder over het hoofd ziet.
